Individual and Family Mentors
Current and former foster youth and young adults who are without permanent families can benefit from caring and committed adults willing to support them in various ways. Your time, talents and treasures can help youth and young adults succeed. The program offers:
Life Skills, Life Books, Life Planning, and Vision Boarding
We believe in acknowledging and supporting individuals at all phases of life. This includes celebrating our centenarians - those who have been blessed to reach 100 years and beyond! We provide a special gift and recognition to those centenarians who have reached this accomplished and rare milestone!
If you know of a person who will soon celebrate their 100th birthday or is already 100 years old or older, please contact us at: info@familyrootsforlife.org.
Consider sharing your experience and expertise with youth in need. Having someone with whom they can communicate and confide in can make a world of difference in their lives. Contact us at: info@familyrootsforlife.org, or fill out an online application at: Volunteer Signup.
Youth and young adults in foster care, or those who are considered at-risk, are often in need of life skills training and support.
At Family Roots, we facilitate life skills training such as:
We provide family life coaching to individuals and couples around a myriad of topics such as: parenting, relationships, family planning, adoption, foster care, and more!
We also partner with other child and family serving organizations to provide consultation and training on a variety of topics - all to ensure the health and well-being of children and families.
Youth in foster care often experience multiple homes and transitions. As they grow older, they may only have a few tangible memories. Life Books are beneficial to helping youth preserve childhood memories, fill in the blanks of lost memories, and help them answer questions about their past. This gives them an enhanced sense of self and an understanding of their place and purpose in the world.
Life Books can be both sentimental and therapeutic. To support Life Books, consider becoming a Volunteer or DONATE TODAY.
