Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Friends and Besties from all walks of life gathered for a night of fun and sisterhood with a purpose at the Family Roots for Life, Inc. Girlfriends Gathering on September 22, 2023 at Heaven on Earth Event Center in Missouri City, TX. Attendees honored the bond of friendship through live entertainment, music, games, vendor shopping, dancing, food and drinks, and a service project to help young adults transitioning out of the foster care system prepare for life on their own in the My First Apartment/Dorm Room Project.
Family Roots for Life, Inc. (FRFL) honored child welfare professional Jessica Belt, MBA, BS, Program Supervisor/Clinical Case Manager II, and the child welfare staff at Arms Wide with the 2023 Child Welfare Professionals Award at its Girlfriends Gathering on September 22nd at the historic Heaven on Earth Event Center in Missouri City, TX. This inaugural award, presented during National Child Welfare Workers Month, recognized the valuable and integral role they play as child welfare professionals protecting children and strengthening families.
On September 22, National Centenarian's Day, Family Roots for Life, Inc. recognized 114-year-old, supercentenarian Elizabeth Francis, the oldest Houstonian and Texan, and the second longest-living person in the United States with the 2023 Family Roots Living Legend Award at its Girlfriend’s Gathering. Francis' family members accepted the award on her behalf.
